I started young, like many in our industry, with an interest in how things work. I would take stuff apart and attempt to put it back together. Some attempts were more successful than others, but that interest has never left me.
I began working for an oil production company not long after I turned 16. While there, I was exposed to all manner of mechanical things, but with older technology. This gave me enough experience to win an Ag Mechanics contest through the FFA chapter at my high school and I was awarded a scholarship to Rend Lake College. I used my scholarship there to get an AAS in Heavy Equipment Maintenance. During college, I moved to an ag equipment dealership and spent 12 years there with some great mentors who coached me through modern engine, transmission, hydraulic and guidance systems and also gained several OEM certifications through AGCO, Great Plains, MacDon and CNH.
In 2016, I was informed about an opportunity at Transervice through a friend and was lucky enough to be invited in. Transervice’s training/certification program has allowed me to take part in OEM-offered training while getting my ASE Master and L2 certifications and their continued support allows me to maintain those certifications as well as participate in future training and contests like TMC SuperTech.
I spend most of my free time with my daughter. I try to pass along mechanical knowledge so that she can be self-sufficient later in life. We also enjoy hunting and fishing as time allows.
