LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y. – October 17, 2019 – Transervice Logistics Inc. donated a catered lunch to the children and workers at the Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Center for Stony Brook Children’s Hospital in Commack, Long Island on October 8th.
The program allows for children battling this disease the opportunity to meet with multiple specialist doctors in one day, in one location. As you can imagine, visiting multiple doctors at multiple visits can become costly from the co-pay perspective as well as the days off from work for the parents, bringing all the specialists under one roof and only charging one co-pay is a wonderful opportunity.
“It was a privilege to spend the early morning with the children and doctors at the Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Center,” said Sean Schnipper; Marketing and Social Media Manager. “As a Long Island based company, learning about these opportunities to give back to our neighbors is a “where do we sign up?” moment. After learning more about the program, we knew it was something we had to donate to and make it a special day for the children.”
Transervice donated 20 lunches, hats and pairs of sunglasses, plus a bendable toy figure for the children.
“On behalf of the Neuromuscular/Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy clinic at Stony Brook Children’s we sincerely appreciate the donation of lunch for our patients by Transervice Logistics, Sean was wonderful, and so thoughtful to stop by and make sure the donation of lunch and some Transervice goodies were just what the children needed to break up their long day,” said Alexis Patsurakis the Division of Pediatric Cardiology’s Administrative Assistant. We look forward to another clinic where Transervice Logistics can be included”.
